Day 3

We didn’t have to be ready until 12:30PM today so I had planned on getting up to go running at 10 but… obviously that did not happen.  I didn’t sleep well again and that’s starting to get a bit annoying.  When we get to Florence tomorrow morning we’ll be staying in a hotel so hopefully I’ll sleep better. (We'll be in Florence for about 3 days receiving some cultural training from Crusade staff in Florence)

After breakfast we went to the conference room that we’ve been having our meetings in and we discussed project policies and rules.  We discussed the alcohol policy because alcohol is so culturally important in Italy.  They basically told us that if it’s rude to say no to alcohol then to say yes but if you feel personally convicted not to drink alcohol then don’t under any circumstances.  They would prefer we didn’t but they know that the culture makes not drinking a bit difficult just because we don’t want to be rude.  I think that if someone offers me a drink I’ll first say no but if I see that they’ll get offended if I don’t drink then I’ll take it and take a sip and be done with it.  Hopefully it won’t be that big of a deal.

We all went back to our rooms to finish packing and since I had already packed when I got up I had some time to Skype with my family so that was nice.  Ethan was being a shy boy and a monster as usual.

(guy in the middle is Ryan!)

The drive to Boston took about 2 hours and Whitney and I slept most of the time.  We got here and everything went smoothly: checking in, security, getting to the gate, etc.

I'm so excited for you Kim! I pray that your flight goes {or has gone} well and that you soak up everything during training. {gah!} I just don't know what to say because I'm so excited for you. ^_^

    God bless,
    Sonya
